Plastic Surgery Services

When planning and budgeting for plastic surgery, it’s important to know if a procedure is considered cosmetic or reconstructive.

Cosmetic
Cosmetic surgery procedures are aimed at enhancing the physical appearance of a healthy, normal body
part in order to boost confidence and self-esteem. Examples of cosmetic procedures can include breast augmentation, liposuction, and abdominoplasty, or tummy tuck. Most cosmetic surgeries are not covered by insurance.

Reconstructive
Reconstructive surgery procedures correct abnormalities that may result from birth defects, physical trauma, or disease, including breast reconstruction and scar repair. Most reconstructive surgeries are covered by insurance. Depending on your circumstances, some procedures can be performed for either cosmetic or reconstructive purposes.
